COBRA Minimum Eligibility Rules
Some states require employees to be active on benefits for a minimum number of months or days prior to moving to part-time or being terminated to be eligible for State COBRA. Other states may only require the employee to be enrolled on the day of the COBRA event, in other words, enrolled for one day, to be eligible for State COBRA.
Below table lists the minimum eligibility rules for State COBRA. To be eligible for COBRA in
the states listed below, the time between the employee's benefits effective date to their
benefits termination date must be greater than the number listed in the Minimum Days
Enrolled column for their state. This applies only to companies that are classified as State
COBRA.
