You are able to use the Job Benchmarking tool to perform research, without hiring anyone in Zenefits. The search tool gives you the ability to type in a general role in any location to provide compensation information.
Compensation Management data does not feed over to other areas of Zenefits. You must set up any information you'd like to see displayed in the initial set up flow, including job mapping and your company's compensation philosophy.
The Compensation Management job mapping tool allows you to see the salary for one role, in one location. At this time, you're not able to compare their compensation against the general market if they are not able to be mapped to one of the Zenefits standard titles.
However, you are able to use the Job Benchmarking tool to perform research on a variety of roles and locations to best inform your decision making.
Mapping a company job title to the standardized job title automatically maps all the workers with the same company job titles to the specific standardized job title. For example, if there are ten workers with the job title of Product Manager 1, and the company job title is mapped to the standardized title of Product Manager - Entry Level, then all ten workers are mapped automatically to Product Manager - Entry Level.
At this time, it is not possible to exclude employees from the benchmarking process.
