Mapping Deductions in Zenefits

Zenefits syncs deductions to your payroll provider via deduction codes. These codes ensure that your workers are correctly deducted and taxed each paycheck. 

You can map your deductions in the Deduction Mapping section of the Settings tab in the Pay Connect app. You'll need to pair each benefit on the left side to a deduction code in your payroll provider on the right side. You can select the appropriate deduction codes using the dropdown menus.

If there aren't any Deduction Codes available in the drop down on the right side, you will need to set up those deduction codes. Depending on your Payroll Provider, you may have to set them up in your payroll system first (such as Gusto), or in Zenefits via Add Deduction section of the  Settings tab under the Pay Connect app (such as Paragon). If set up in the Payroll Provider, it can take up to 24 hours for codes created in your payroll system to show up in Zenefits. If there are any codes you are no longer using, be sure to remove them from the source. 

**When finished, make sure to zero out or remove any previous codes that aren't mapped to Zenefits.
