The state of California requires businesses to register with the state and perform a case reconciliation for each employee before Zenefits can successfully remit child support garnishment payments. To complete registration & reconciliation for California Electronic Child Support Payments, please follow the steps below:
- Complete the attached Enrollment Form.
- Complete the California Case Reconciliation Template. Forms can be found here: https://childsupport.ca.gov/customer-connect/
Please note, if you have an employee with multiple child support garnishments, enter each of them separately when completing the case reconciliation sheet. - Once both forms are completed, submit them to the California State Disbursement Unit (CA SDU) using one of the methods below:

IMPORTANT: Due to the sensitive nature of garnishment information, we highly recommend encrypting/password protecting your email to the state agency. - CA SDU will provide the California Case Identifier employers will need to provide Zenefits to transmit the garnishment payments in a timely & accurate manner.
- Once you have completed the steps above, you can set up garnishments in Zenefits by following the instructions here.
