Do I need to indicate my citizenship or immigrant status during onboarding?

All new hires must choose from one of five categories to indicate their citizenship or immigrant status during onboarding in Zenefits.

The available categories are:

• A citizen of the United States.
• A noncitizen national, e.g., someone born in an US Territory, such as American Samoa.
• A lawful permanent resident, e.g., a non-citizen who resides permanently in the US as an immigrant. If you select this status, you must also provide the UCSIS Alien Registration number.
• An alien with an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). If you select this status, you must also provide the Alien Registration or UCSIS number.
• An alien with a work visa such as an H1B. If you select this status, you must also select a valid visa type and enter the Form I-94 Admission number and foreign passport number.
