How do I run background checks after I set them up in Zenefits?

Once you set up background checks for your company, there are four steps to running one.

  1. Request. You can can request background checks when hiring, or later for one or all current workers.

  2. Authorization. Workers authorize the check, and Zenefits sends them the relevant legal notifications outlined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

  3. Processing. Checkr runs the background check through the relevant local and national database and compiles the report. Reports take about 2-7 days to complete.

  4. Review. A copy of each report will be shown on the Documents page of their profile. Alternatively, administrators can view all checks on the Background Check List page.
