Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act (WHCRA) Notice

Under the Women's Health and Cancer Rights (WHCRA) act, insurance plans and companies that cover mastectomy procedures must also cover certain related services, such as surgery and reconstruction, prosthetics, and treatment of physical complications resulting from the mastectomy.

Insurance companies must provide a notice of rights under WHCRA to each participant and beneficiary under the plan when they enroll, and then once a year. Learn more about the WHCRA act. WHCRA  Model Notices can be found here.
