Employers can change their HRAcontribution amounts only once a year during the company's HRAOpen Enrollment period. When the company is in the renewal period (one month prior to their current HRA end date) they can click into the HRA app, click Change Contribution, and make their contribution changes.

There is no maximum contribution amount for an HRA. However, all employees must receive the same contribution amount. If there are additional contributions for employees with dependents, these amounts must be the same for all employees with dependents.

HRAs allow employers to provide pre-tax funds to employees to pay for medical expenses on an as-needed basis.

In order to continue offering employees Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs), administrators must renew their HRA plan near the end of their plan year. The renewal must be completed before the 15th of the month their plan year ends, and will be made available for administrators to sign off on the 28th of the month prior. If the employer misses the renewal period, the effective date of the HRA cannot be changed retroactively. If you do not want to renew the HRA, then there is no action that needs to be taken.
